Natural PMS Relief!

PMS symptoms are a reality for many, many women.

According to womenshealth.gov, as many as 3 in 4 women may suffer from PMS symptoms throughout their menstruating life. That’s a lot of cramps, mood swings, and cravings! I am so thankful for the things I have learned on my wellness journey that have helped so much with my PMS symptoms. The symptoms are not gone entirely and I don’t really expect that to happen. While it would be great to have a virtually pain-free period, I accept that it’s part of the process. But I want to give my body all the tools it needs to handle menstruation with dignity and grace… or something like that!

Progessence Plus

This product has been such a game-changer for me hormonally. It’s a blend of hormone balancing essential oils and naturally occurring progesterone found in wild yam. My period tracker app reflects the before and after of using this serum and it’s pretty crazy to see my wildly irregular period suddenly stabilize upon using this daily. My fluctuating emotions leading up to my period have also levelled out since using Pro+. I used to know my period was coming a week in advance when I would begin crying/raging and felt totally out of control of my emotions. After a month of using Progessence Plus, I actually had my period sneak up on me and was shocked when it started; I had no emotional symptoms! I use 2 drops on my forearms or neck each morning.

Clary Sage Essential Oil

This is another oil that has been such a life-saver. Using it in conjunction with Pro+ has helped to regulate my period, relieve cramps and bloating, and support my emotional health. I use clary sage in a roller with peppermint, lavender, and orange and roll it on my abdomen before & during my period.

PanAway Essential Oil

PanAway is such a great Young Living blend to help reduce cramping. I apply a drop or 2 diluted in coconut oil to my abdomen for quick relief!

Magnesium

There are so many different magnesium supplements. I haven’t researched enough to feel comfortable promoting just one, but since taking a calcium-magnesium supplement I have had less cramping, better sleep, and MUCH less anxiety! Magnesium also is known to help with bloating.

Finally, remember that you can’t out-oil or out-supplement bad health practices. If you are eating a diet filled with sugar and refined carbohydrates, your body is going to suffer from inflammation and you are going to experience the damage a bad diet and/or over-exercising does to you hormones most acutely during your period.

If you are interested in trying out any of these Young Living products but aren’t a member yet, feel free to comment and we can chat about your options. I would love to answer any questions you have and help you get started!
